EASY POHA UPPUMA


Thick Poha
2 cups
Butter milk
1 cup
Cut vegetables
1 cup
Minced Onion
½ cup
Split green chilli
2
Jeera, Mustard,Urad dhal
1 tsp each to season
Oil
1 tbsn
Salt to taste


1.       Wash poha well and soak it in buttermilk with salt for ½ an hour.
2.       If the poha is thin and light, just wash it and mix it with just 2 tbsn of buttermilk and keep.
3.       In a broad tawa, pour oil and season the spices with chilli.
4.       Add onion and cut vegetables and sauté them well.
5.       Add ½ cup water and close with a lid for the vegetables to get cooked well.
6.       Add required salt to the vegetables; remember the poha also has ½ salt in it.
7.       Once the vegetables are cooked, keep the stove in high flame for all the extra water to evaporate.
8.       Add the poha and mix well with a light ladle so that the uppuma is loose.
9.       Add cut coriander and curry leaves.
10.   Serve hot with tomato ketchup or coconut chutney.
