A WONDERFUL RASAM FOR A WINTER NIGHT


Methi seeds
1 tsp
Toor dhal
4 tsp
Pepper
1 tsp
Jeera(cumin seeds)
1 tsp
Curry leaves
1 tbsn
Tamarind paste
1 tsp
Tomato pieces
1 small cup
Turmeric powder
½ tsp
Oil to fry and season
2 tsp
Salt to taste

  1. Fry methi(fenugreek) seeds,chilli,toor dhal, pepper, jeera and curry leaves.
  2. Powder them nicely and keep.
  3. Grind tomato pieces.
  4. Mix tamarind paste with salt , turmeric powder and tomato paste in 3 tumblers of water .
  5. Allow the solution to boil for full 5 minutes so that the raw smell of tamarind and tomato will leave.
  6. Add the ground powder and allow it just one boil.
  7. Season mustard in a tsp of oil.
  8. Garnish with minced coriander leaves and serve.
  9. No need to add cooked dhal to this rasam.
  10. A very simple and healthy rasam for cold night.
  11. One can take it as soup also for a cold and sore throat.
