Wheat Rawa,Poha,Oats -- Three in one IDLI
Ingredients:
Wheat Rawa(Samba Rawa), Thick Poha, Plain Oats --- one cup each
Curd -- 2 cups
Oil -- 3 tablespoon
Onion (optional)
Mustard, urad dhal, asafoetida -- one tsp each to season
Green chilli --2
Ginger ground --1 tsp
Curry leaves -- 1 tsp
Salt to taste.
1. Dry roast poha and oats, grind them coarsely in the mixer and keep.
2. Keep a tawa on fire , pour one tbsn of oil, season mustard, urad dhal, asafoetida, ginger ground and nicely chopped green chilli.
3. Nicely chop one big onion and fry them in the oil if preferable.
4. Add wheat rawa to the seasoned things and saute it a little.
5. Now add the coarsely ground poha and oats and mix all together.
6. Allow the mixture to cool a little.
7. Add salt and 2 cups of curd and mix it to idli batter consistency.
8. If it is thick, you can add some more curd.
9. Add a pinch of cooking soda,remaining two tbsn of oil, curry leaves and mix them well.
10. Allow it to stay for 10 minutes and make regular idlis in the idli tawa.
11. The cooking time of this idli will be a little longer than ordinary idli.
12. Idli chilli podi with ginglee oil is the best combination to this.
13. As there is not even a grain of rice in this, it is an excellent food for diabetic patients.
14. As rawa and oats have good fibre content, it will stay longer in the stomach, so very good for afternoon lunch also.
