Methi Seeds(Fenugreek)-- a wonder in food



Methi seeds – wonder medicine for Sugar patients.

Methi seeds (fenugreek) have the wonderful property of reducing the sugar level as well as the cholesterol level in the blood. Here are some tips as to how to use them in our regular food items.
1.    Methi seeds will enhance the taste of the food.
2.    It has 50% fiber content in it which helps to reduce the sugar and cholesterol levels in the blood as more fibrous the food is, more insulin will be produced in the body.
3.    These patients can take 50 gms of methi seeds daily dividing it in 2 portions.
4.    These seeds can be soaked in water and added to dhals or sambar or can be fried and powdered and mixed with all food stuffs. Soaked fenugreeks will lose its sour taste to a great extent.
5.    The soaked methi seeds can be taken as it is 15 minutes before food.
6.    Soaked methi seeds can be added to dosai batter while grinding or dhals in sabji for chappathis and all.
7.    Fried and powdered methi seeds can be added to idli podi or sambar podi. The main purpose is to consume the required amount of the seeds.
8.    Methi seeds will have a cooling effect on the body and so it helps in digestion to a great extent.
9.    Methi leaves also have the same properties as seeds.
